This storytelling piece has an accompanying document. You can engage with the accompanying document as a word document.

An image description (word document) is available for the graphic illustration.

Hum Ek Hai is the inquiring of individual personal experiences of social action within diverse minority ethnic communities in Scotland. The main focus of this has been to discover what helps and hinders social action within diverse cultures, faith, and backgrounds.

This was achieved through the sharing of incredible stories of personal growth through social action along with ‘dreaming’ of what could be for those not involved. The journey of gathering these stories are testament to the involvement and celebration of diversity with Scotland as well as recognising the impact that that multiple barriers can have on individuals who remain separate from wider society.

Thanks to West of Scotland Regional Equality Council (WSREC) who supported Social Action Inquiry Scotland through offering space for focus groups and allowing us to use their group of remarkable women in creating the Helps and Hinders Tree for display as part of any exhibitions.
