We are asking, listening and acting together to document that change.
Here we share some of those stories.

We are partnering with communities across Scotland to learn what helps and what hinders their social action.
They are sharing their stories to highlight the enablers and the barriers they face.
What is social action?
Organising a litter pick, campaigning for policy changes, creating a support group for those experiencing loneliness. These are some examples of social action.
We see social action as people creating positive change in their communities.
We are daughters, sons, mothers, fathers, neighbours, activists, storytellers, people of colour, rural dwellers, urban dwellers, people of faith, queer, neurodivergent, people with disabilities, asylum seekers and refugees, people in recovery.
We are some of the people of Scotland.
We are listening to the stories of communities around Scotland.
With some of our partnering communities we are providing resources they know they need to make a difference. Resources which they may not have had access to through the current systems.

We are an interdependent inquiry, meaning everyone involved in the inquiry has a mutual dependence on each other.
We are documenting and sharing our learnings and unlearnings regularly with our Partners so that they can adapt to help the future of social action across Scotland.
People across Scotland are responding to the needs of their communities through social action. They may be seldom-heard, treated unjustly, face stigmas and discrimination due to the current systems in place. They have decided to create change.
Together we are showing that there is a different way of doing things. Ways that connect and nourish people, not divide them. We are sharing their stories to highlight what helps them make that change, and what hinders that change.
